Terms we see less often in recent records
Fewer mentions in recent permit records do not establish that less of the work is happening.

FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
What this page is based on
Data through August 2026
- Matching records in our dataset
- 2,663,640
- Permit terms covered
- 398
The records come from a selected set of Florida jurisdictions with unequal coverage, and every number on this page is scoped to them.
How we count.
Evidence
Terms with fewer recent mentions
Irrigation, soffit work, reclaimed-water connections and solar appear less often in recent parts of the dataset than in earlier records.
This describes matches in the records we hold. It does not establish a decline in the underlying work.
- "irrigation system" matching permits
- 40,780
- "soffit" matching permits
- 4,259
- "reclaimed water" matching permits
- 7,060
- "solar" matching permits
- 102,183
Counts are not additive: a permit can match more than one term. Adding category counts can count the same permit more than once.
Wording and coverage can change
Applicants may describe the same work differently, include it in a broader application or file it through another process. Jurisdictions can also change what they publish.
A falling count needs further investigation before it can support a conclusion about construction activity.
Reading solar records alongside related terms
Solar, storage and charging terms describe related installations, but their counts are not interchangeable. One permit may mention several of them.
The records do not establish why a term became less frequent. Use the figures as a starting point for investigation, with the overlap and coverage limits in mind.
- "battery storage" matching permits
- 2,710
Counts are not additive: a permit can match more than one term. Adding category counts can count the same permit more than once.
